Community service
Shannon spent his last months reading books to kids who had no visitors.
Service is not a side program for us. It is the thing the organization was founded to carry on, and we ask our players to be part of it.
The practice
Every player takes part
Every player in both programs takes part in community service during the season. Not as punishment, not as a box to tick for a scholarship application — because showing up for people is the whole point of the name on the jersey.
The work is local and it is ordinary: field days, food drives, helping at events, showing up where an organization in this county needs hands.
An open offer
For organizations in Mendocino County
If you need volunteers and can use a group of kids and their parents for a morning, tell us. We would rather be asked than guess where we are useful.
